Mel first discovered yoga in 2013. At 25, she had finally discovered a way to move her body that she actually enjoyed!
She soon realised the mental, physical and spiritual benefits of this ancient practice. It is her absolute pleasure and joy to now share these benefits with others.
She completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Stefan Camilleri Yoga in 2018. Further trainings include Chair Yoga, anatomy and physiology, yogic philosophy, chanting and meditation. She is a Yoga Detour-Informed Teacher, and a certified FRC™ Mobility Specialist.
Mel creates an atmosphere of curiosity in her classes with play, exploration and joy. She wants every person to discover that they have the capacity to be strong and resilient in both body and mind. When attending her classes, you’ll always feel comfortable to move in ways that best serve you.

When Mel first asked JB to come along to a yoga class, he baulked. He worried he was too tall, too inflexible, too awkward, and people would laugh if he couldn’t do some of the poses. He soon realised that yoga is a practice, not a performance – no one is watching or judging!
Yoga had such a profoundly positive impact on his mind and body. He soon knew he wanted to become a teacher and share this knowledge and practice with others.
JB has a strong focus on challenging yet accessible classes. He particularly loves supporting beginners to feel comfortable and confident in their practice. His unexpected quips will get you giggling, while his dulcet tones will lull you into total relaxation.
JB completed his 200-hour yoga teacher training with Stefan Camilleri Yoga in 2019. He has since taken further trainings in Yin Yoga, Yogic philosophy, and anatomy. He is a Yoga Detour-Informed Teacher and a certified FRC™ Mobility Specialist.

Studio Manager and Teacher
Kat first discovered yoga at her local gym in 2008. It was a few more years before she stumbled across a Bikram Yoga class in 2010 and found yoga to be her passion.
Since graduating from Bikram’s College of India, LA in 2011, Kat has taught in studios all around Australia and the UK. She has now expanded her teaching styles to Yin and Vinyasa and completed many trainings to support her craft.
Kat combines functional anatomy and movement science with her passions for energy healing. She now runs a 50-Hour Yin Teacher Training each year, sharing her extensive knowledge with other teachers.
She loves to weave her knowledge as a Reiki Master and intuitive healer into the realms of yoga. You’ll often find her speaking about energy, Chakras, meridians and more in a down to earth, accessible way.
Kat has been teaching classes for Stone’s Throw Yoga since we opened in 2020. In 2022 we were delighted to offer her the role of Studio Manager. She now responds to enquiries, creates our fantastic graphics, and keeps the studio running smoothly.

Claire grew up in the Perth Hills, and loves to share her passion for movement with her local community. With a background in dance and sports science, she found yoga to be a ‘no-brainer’ when it comes to movement that is good for the mind, body and soul.
Claire completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training with Stefan Camilleri Yoga. She has since completed (and facilitated!) Kids Yoga Training, as well as trainings in meditation and Yin Yoga.
She loves introducing people to the benefits of yoga with interesting, feel-good classes. She also teaches accessible Chair Yoga classes for those in our community who need a little extra support.

Beth-Marie has been practicing yoga since the late 90s. She still hears her first teacher’s voice whenever she practices today.
Over the decades she has worked on embodying the yogic principles she’s been exposed to. Finding inner peace and presence, experiencing life fully, embracing impermanence, and conscious breath.
Beth-Marie realised that her personal practice has given her knowledge that she could share with others, and she decided to complete a 350 hour yoga teacher training. Teaching yoga has been beautiful, challenging and exactly what she needed in life.
During her classes, she loves to share whatever deep and existential musings she’s been pondering. It’s hard being human, and she hopes that her classes can help to soften each students’ journey.
When she isn’t teaching, you can catch her meditating in nature, swimming in the healing ocean (even in winter!) and walking amongst the trees.

Ashleigh has been teaching yoga since 2011, and is hugely experienced – certified to teach Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Pre & Post Natal yoga and Stott Pilates.
She’s taught at many studios across Canada, and now having returned to Australia and settled in the Hills, she’s excited to share her knowledge with her local community.
Growing up as a ballet dancer, she was introduced to yoga as a way to increase flexibility and strength and quickly fell in love with the ancient practice. Now, as a mum of three young children, her love of yoga has only grown. Her practice has become a true sanctuary amongst the hustle and bustle of mum life – a place to reconnect with herself.
She aims to bring a sense of fun and creativity to her classes, while giving her students the opportunity to rest, recenter and create a deeper awareness of Self.

Lakita is a passionate movement teacher who initially spent many years teaching and performing as a Bellydancer. She has since added her yoga teacher certification and loves exploring ways to weave the slinky and fluid qualities of both these practices together.
Lakita’s classes are lush and dance-like, with supportive music that leaves you feeling relaxed and empowered in your body and soul.
When practicing with Lakita, you can look forward to a celebration of all the senses and a safe space for all bodies.

Teacher & Front Desk
Ingrid first turned to yoga in 2020 during a period of transition in her life. What began as a way to move and de-stress quickly became something much deeper – a steady anchor and a practice of coming home to herself.
Before teaching yoga, Ingrid worked in education for ten years. After experiencing burnout, she chose to leave the industry and pursue her passion for yoga full-time. She completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Loka Yoga in 2022 and has since expanded her studies through Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, meditation, sound healing and Reiki.
Ingrid has a soft spot for Yin and Restorative practices. She feels deeply called to create safe, sensory-rich spaces where students can fully unwind – using gentle movement, breath, relaxing music and subtle elements of sound healing to support deep rest. Her intention is always to help people slow down, feel supported and reconnect with themselves in a meaningful way.

15 years ago Paola rolled out her mat for the first time, when the office grind was leaving her with the classic aches and pains of a desk warrior. Her passion for yoga deepened as her pain faded, and she realized she was gaining much more than just a stretch from her practice.
She completed her 200 hour yoga training with the Yoga Vine in 2019. She then expanded her knowledge and teaching to Yin Yoga. Since becoming a yoga teacher, she’s found immense joy in passing the rewards yoga provides to other people.
Teaching allows Paola to share the transformative power and serenity yoga brings to the mind, soul and body. She loves guiding people in finding their own practice, unlocking new strengths, releasing tension, exploring different asanas and recognising personal boundaries – all while ensuring intuitive and fluid movement.

Angela began practicing yoga around 20 years ago, and discovered the teachings of Buddhism soon after. Both have been a consistent part of her life ever since, with both physical and philosophical learnings having a profound impact.
Yoga has helped her manage anxiety, trauma, burnout and chronic stress. Historically a chronic people-pleaser, she’s been able to find her voice, understand her worth and learn how to say no.
Angela originally studied yoga only to deepen her own understanding and practice, but soon realised that she felt called to share this healing practice with others.
In addition to teaching yoga and meditation, she is also a sound healing practitioner, reiki master and breathwork facilitator.
Her favourite part about teaching yoga is the learning that goes both ways. She keenly feels the energy shared between teacher and student, and is honoured to create a container for self-care, self-reflection and growth.
