Pay what you can

Making yoga accessible for those with financial difficulties

Through the support of our community, we are thrilled to offer ten Pay what you can (PWYC) memberships to those who can’t afford our regular or concession (10% off) pricing.

This membership gives you access to unlimited weekly classes at whatever price you can afford. Priority is given to those from the BIPOC and LGBTQI+ communities, who are neurodiverse, or living with a disability.

You don’t have to prove to us that you are struggling by answering intrusive questions or submitting invasive paperwork. We simply ask that you are honest and sincere in your request for a PWYC membership, and that if your financial situation improves you let us know so that we can offer your place to someone else in need.

Please complete our short application form and we’ll get back to you within one week.

If there are no places currently available you’ll be added to our waitlist.

Why do we offer PWYC memberships?

Yoga is so much more than exercise. It is a spiritual practice that includes guiding principles for living a full and rewarding life and reducing suffering in the world.

Patanjali’s eight limbs of yoga is an ancient foundational yogic text that describes ethics, disciplines and practices to follow with a goal of achieving ‘Samadhi’ – oneness, unity of consciousness, and self-realisation.

Two of the ethics Patanjali described are Aparigraha, non-greed or non-attachment, and Ahimsa, non-violence or non-harming.

This means that when we have enough we should give to others. We should do our best to avoid hoarding (money, items, access, natural resources) in an attempt to ensure that everyone gets their share.

We should take actions that reduce suffering in the world, and do our best to make the ancient wisdom and practice of yoga accessible to all who seek to learn.

As our studio grows and flourishes, we hope to increase the number of PWYC memberships we can offer. If you are investing in the studio through attending classes, workshops and events we appreciate your contribution to this program.
